Sustainable Arts Foundation Fellowship!

I am so honored to receive a fellowship from the Sustainable Arts Foundation. This amazing organization provides financial support to artist-parents. They understand that juggling parenthood and artistic work can be challenging but also so extremely rewarding. The story I submitted is about gigantic sinkholes that are popping up all over the globe and can only be stabilized when women come and pitch their emotional baggage into them… Strange to think how relevant dystopian stories feel these days, but I’m glad we have them as a vehicle to think things through. Shortlisted for the Alpine Fellowship Writing Prize

My seven year old son wrote a story called “The Dark Magic of the Storm” and I wrote an essay about it, which has been shortlisted for the Alpine Fellowship Writing Prize. Honored to be in such great company and thrilled that I’m up for a chance to visit Venice this summer to attend the Alpine Fellowship. The theme this year is Childhood. So thrilled to be named a finalist in the emerging category of the 2016 Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana Authors Award. When I moved back to Indiana a couple years ago, it felt like coming home. And so my heart is full. The winner will be announced at the award dinner on October 29th, held in the beautiful Indianapolis Central Library.
